Five Months

Our little girl is FIVE months old today. No joke. Time is flying.
This little bird is growing and growing and every time I wish I could freeze her right where she is, she just gets more and more fun.
At 4 1/2 months she was 15.3 pounds, 25.5 inches.
So who knows how big she is now. 2 weeks is a lot of growing in the life of a baby.

She's really into our faces right now. She caresses our cheeks and lips while we feed her, and she loves to close her eyes and feel our faces.

She rolls. And rolls and rolls. Yesterday I put her on the floor and ran to the bathroom real quick only to find she had rolled across the room, several feet from where I had left her seconds earlier....just laying there giggling. My stationary baby is becoming less stationary....

She's smiles at anyone who comes to talk to her, but she reserves her giggles for really funny stuff. She sometimes makes us work for those. She has the most amazing smile and her eyes sparkle when she grins.

And she sleeps. Oh she sleeps. I thought it might never happen but she sleeps 12 hours a night, one quick wake up. And today she took her first honest-to-goodness nap in her crib. (not in her carseat, stroller, or my arms....) I was so proud of her. (And who knew how much I could get done around the house in an hour??!?!)

I grow more and more in love with you every day my little Eves. You make me feel so vulnerable and so happy all at the same time. I don't think I could ever say no to those eyes, but I know one day I'll have to and it will break my heart more than it breaks yours. I am so excited to show you the whole world, but let's take our time cause I don't want you to grow up too fast. I love every part of our days, even the hard parts. I love the little person you are and I love being your mom.
