I know, I know....

....I have hardly blogged since we moved here. Now I have put up four blog postings in the last 15 minutes. But I haven't had the internet, so that's my excuse. Yes, they do have internet here in Alaska, we just finally moved in and got some internet of our own.

Things are going well, we are both settling in to our new life. Last week was in the 80's which was a shock to us! I even had to break out the tank tops. Today I even got a little tan. Never thought that would happen. (Hope Derek doesn't read this because it won't be a good selling point for that Hawaii trip I am trying to push...)

The biggest differences so far that I have noticed are that A) everyone fishes. the newspaper front page stories are almost always about fishing. forget iran, afghanistan, and all those other places, we have fish stories here. and B) the groceries are crazy expensive. I can't believe how much money I spent on food this week and I still feel like we don't have anything to eat. Here is a sign from the produce department- had to capture this one on film . I probably embarrassed my family taking pictures in the produce aisle. Oh well, I am sure I have done worse...

yep, those are $6/lb tomatoes. That's about $12 for 2 of these suckers. But then, strangely enough, today I saw pineapples for $1 each. really? Are we growing pineapples in Alaska now or something? I am totally confused.
