She's one.
Everyone keeps asking me if I can believe she's already a year old. Yes and no.
I can't believe how fast this year has gone. In the days leading up to her birthday, I couldn't believe that a year ago we didn't even know her yet. Didn't know if she was a she or a he.
But I also can't imagine life without her now. It seems like she's always been here. Like she's always belonged. And I suppose that's why it took us so long to have her. All those years, months, struggling to get pregnant. We were just waiting for her. And she was so worth the wait.
We're totally in love.
My heart grew and grew and grew this year. (And I think my brain shrunk and shrunk and shrunk, but that's another story.)
On to the birthday! Eva had a blast opening her presents. She let out lots of "wow"s (which is one of her favorite things to say- besides "whoa")
She ate her own mini banana cream pie (mini pies are all the rage right now- I learned this in seattle....) I ate two or three. I mean, I can't remember how many. It doesn't matter.
She even got another tooth, but we gave her so much pie she didn't care.
She even got to skype with her gram and grandpa in Chicago while she enjoyed her birthday dessert.
It was a fun day, which then extended into the night since our little sugared up bundle of joy couldn't fall asleep until 10pm.
