The big guy

I do love pictures of crying babies on Santa's lap. That's how I knew I wouldn't be upset if Eva was less than happy to be meeting the big guy. It seems like a rite of passage. You haven't lived if you haven't cried on Santa's lap.
Well, we just so happened to bump into Santa a couple weeks before Christmas at my nephew's preschool christmas show. So Eva got to practice.
She was none too thrilled about it. I thought maybe she was upset about her pants being too short, her lack of time to prepare, or maybe she just didn't know what to ask for yet.

So I found the perfect Santa while we were in Chicago and I gave her another try. I mean, this guy is the real deal. She was so excited while we were in line- pointing, waving, saying "hi, hi, hi"
But we got within 5 feet of him and she said "no, mama, no" And I put her on his lap anyway.
She made it pretty clear she didn't like this one either. 0 for 2.
Oh well kiddo, you did it. You survived.
And even though I like pictures of babies crying on Santa's lap, I felt kinda bad after this one.
But it is a really good picture. I think that one day you'll laugh.
