The first 24 hours....

Well, the airport was a challenge. And I am not talking about the 7 suitcases we were lugging. (without a suitcase cart to my dismay....I always wanted to use one of those) The suitcases were tough, but not as tough as leaving. I had a minor breakdown pulling into Sea-Tac, but I redeemed myself after a glass of wine. No more tears for the rest of the plane ride. We landed pretty late, but the sun was still shining!

We picked up our rental car and settled into to bed at 1:00 a.m., sun still shining. Derek had an interview the next morning and after that it was time to explore.

We went for a bike ride in the 75 degree weather. Who would've known I would be sweating in Alaska?! Nice backdrop on our new city, huh?

We rode our bike's over to Dave and Kate's to see our nephews, Zane and new baby Koen! Zane was a silly goofball as usual. We got him all wound up and then had to leave. (sorry Kate!)

Koen is a snuggler.
We spent a good couple hours there then set out to the grocery store to get some dinner....

Oh happy day!! They have Tillamook yogurt! Those of you who I commissioned to send this to me in a care package can now focus your efforts on Beechers Cheese.

Shout out to Seattle. They have Red Hook here. And it is delish as always.
